The people behind JEM Logistics — decades of industry experience and a shared passion for excellence.
JEM Logistics is built on the experience, dedication and hands-on leadership of the people who have driven our growth from six trucks to a fleet of 50+.
JEM Logistics is built on the principles of independence and hands-on service, established by our founder, Daniel Jemmett. Daniel’s journey in transport began nearly 25 years ago, starting small with just two wagons around the year 2000.
The pivotal moment came in 2016 when Daniel took a decisive leap of faith, establishing JEM Logistics after recognising the need for a distinct direction — one focused on reliability, compliance and a customer-first ethos.
Building the new company required conviction, and several key team members immediately joined his vision. Many of those original colleagues remain the backbone of JEM Logistics today. Under Daniel’s leadership the company has grown from a handful of trucks to 47+ vehicles, with in-house MOT and maintenance services ensuring every vehicle meets the highest standards.
John Gray’s career journey is a testament to hands-on experience and dedication. Leaving school at 16 with no formal qualifications, John immediately began working in removals until he was old enough to drive — and never looked back.
His path progressed from driving vans and trucks to recovery work, cementing a lifelong career in transport. For eight years he played a pivotal role in helping another local haulier build their business before they ceased trading.
John initially joined JEM Logistics with the simple intention of driving. His skills and commitment quickly convinced Daniel to bring him into a leadership role. Starting from a fleet of just six trucks, John has been instrumental in scaling operations to their current size and is the operational heartbeat of the company today.
